About the Service
The Adult and Older Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing services, otherwise known as “Locals”, are a key recommendation from Victoria’s Royal Commission into the mental health service system. As such, the Locals are a key feature of the current system transformation.
The Locals will act as a front door to the mental health service system and will provide a continuum of care and support including clinical interventions, wellbeing supports, and therapeutic support through an integrated mental health and alcohol and other drug framework approach.
Mind Australia is the lead agency in a consortium for the Melton Local which comprises of IPC Health, Western Health, and Thorne Harbour Health. Our shared vision is a Local that delivers integrated support that puts the person accessing the service at the very centre of their treatment, support and care coordination using a range of evidence informed approaches. The consortium is committed to embedding lived and living experience and expertise within all aspects of the service including program design and evaluation, leadership, service delivery and governance.
The Position
We are looking for an experienced Manager to provide clinical supervision and support to relevant staff within the service. The Clinical Manager will work collaboratively with the Service Manager to assess issues and risks, including complex consumer issues that are escalated through appropriate pathways. The clinical Manager will have extensive experience and skills in delivering services with a range of complex issues, clinical assessment, planning and implementation, and evidence-based service interventions. The Clinical Manager provides leadership that sets a climate of collaboration and person- centred, strengths-based practice.

- Providing clinical leadership and guidance to staff as needed, including supervision, crisis management, debriefing and change management within the Melton Local.
- Being unwaveringly committed to consumer participation, clinical best practice, and the delivery of high-quality care that is safe, effective, and always person-centred.
- Demonstrating a commitment to a process of continual improvement through reflection, analysis, planning and leading the implementation of change initiatives to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and/or the quality of care in all clinical services programs.
- Overseeing consistent delivery of high-quality care – care that is safe, effective and person centred – to consumers of all services and programs within IPC Health and the Melton Local.
To succeed, you will need
- Current registration or professional membership within relevant discipline (i.e., AHPRA, AMHSW, AASW, PACFA or ACA).
- Qualifications in psychology, social work, alcohol and other drugs, O.T, nursing, or other relevant disciplines.
- Minimum three -year experience in leadership roles in mental health sector or relevant sectors.
- Certification in clinical supervision and staff development.
- Strong analytical skills that can identify operational drivers for change and the ability to implement continuous quality and safety improvements.
