Position Summary:
Incumbent provides direct and indirect patient care to an assigned group of Interventional Pulmonary patients. The nurse will also assist Interventional Pulmonary Faculty with outpatient and inpatient clinical care as well as with procedures such as bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, photodynamic therapy, laser resection, dilation, pulmonary stent insertion, endobronchial ultrasound with biopsy and electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy. Demonstrates knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Records patient history, lab testing results, current medications and radiology results as part of pre-procedure, moderate sedation and general anesthesia preop evaluation(s). The nurse will serve as a contact for patients, physicians and staff; helping to ensure appropriate scheduling and authorizations. The nurse will also assist in patient education, discharge and formulation of patient plans of care and follow-up.

Salary Range:
Hourly Rate Minimum $59.93 Midpoint $71.10 Maximum $82.27
Required Qualifications:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Current California RN license
Current ACLS certification
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
Three years of related clinical experience in an acute care setting
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Licenses and Certifications:
Basic Life Support(Required)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
Critical Care and/or Stepdown unit experience
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Competent in delivery of moderate sedation and recovery
