Who are we?
Established in 1991, Danila Dilba Health Service (DDHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation committed to providing culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care services and community development within the Biluru (Aboriginal) community of the Yilli Rreung (Greater Darwin) Region in the Northern Territory.
We work to address the social determinants of health including the broader issues that affect our people’s health, through evidence-based research and public advocacy. We also work to empower individuals, families and communities to optimise their health.
About the role
The Clinical Project officer will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Acute Rheumatic Fever (ARF) and Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) projects in the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, evaluate and report on the ARF and PHD projects across all DDHS clinics.
- Complete and participate in regular formal and informal performance feedback and improvement sessions.
- Effectively communicate with a multidisciplinary team including clients and external service providers to ensure external stakeholder services to clients.
- Conduct all activities in a manner consistent with national health accreditation standards, DDHS Occupational (Work) Health and Safety Policy and procedures.
- Identify and make recommendations on opportunities to improve processes, quality, and service delivery outcomes.
- Build and maintain awareness and understanding of the DDHS strategic plan.
- Adhere to all organisational policies, procedures, standards, and practices e.g., Information and records management, confidentiality.
To be successful you will need:
Essential
- 2 years of experience in primary health care
- Proven ability to lead and work within a Team environment that is open and transparent, with a person-centred focus.
- Experience in managing multiple stakeholder relationships and project deadlines with competing priorities and limited resources.
- Experience and ability to drive stakeholder engagement and deliver superior service levels through collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement systems and work practices that support continuous improvement.
- Strong negotiating, problem solving and decision-making skills whilst thinking on your feet.
Desirable
- Knowledge or experience in Management of Acute Rheumatic Fever (ARF) and Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD)
- Qualifications in a health-related field
- Experience in providing education to clinicians
What we offer:
- 6 weeks annual leave per annum.
- 5 days paid leave during our end of year shut down period (in addition to annual leave).
- Salary packaging of up to $15,990 per annum.
