The Position

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Psychologist ideally with knowledge or experience in perinatal and infant mental health conditions. This is a permanent part-time position for 45.6 hours per fortnight, to be worked on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week. Some evening work is required.

As a Clinical Psychologist, you will:

  • Provide a Clinical/Counselling Service to clients in accordance with the ethical standards of the Australian Psychological Society.
  • Provide psychological advice, consult, reflective supervision and training to Nursing/Allied Health staff as required.
  • Develop, prepare, present and evaluate psycho-education and therapeutic groups for parents with infants.
  • Undertake individual, dyadic, family and group psychological interventions at an advanced level demonstrating expertise and specialised knowledge relevant to psychological practice with infants (0-5yrs) and their families.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology from an APS and AHPRA approved equivalent.
  • Eligible for full registration with The Psychology Board of Australia and AHPRA and endorsement as a Counselling or Clinical Psychologist.
  • Eligible for a Medicare provider number for focused psychological strategies or clinical psychological therapies.
  • Relevant Mental Health experience working as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with Adults and young children with mental health conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide psychological practice at a senior and autonomous level with complex cases and assessments, and participate in service delivery strategic planning.
  • Experience and skills in receiving/providing reflective practice supervision.
  • Experience and skill in attachment focussed, relationship-based approaches to intervention with individuals, families and groups.
  • Demonstrated understanding and developing skills in the association of psychological practice to the area of perinatal and infant mental health.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute positively in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated self-management skills and ability to organise and prioritise work load.
