Position Summary
Serve as a coordinator in The Driving Real-world In-Vehicle Evaluation System (DRIVES) project. The coordinator is responsible for providing day-to-day operational leadership, organization, compliance, participant recruitment, and data collection for the project. The coordinator will draw blood from study participants for analysis. The coordinator acts as a liaison between the PI and other study components, the school, personnel, collaborators, the sponsoring agency, and study participants. The coordinator is responsible for managing all phases of study protocol as required by the PI and sponsoring agency(s) to ensure compliance, providing supervision of administrative support for the laboratory, and managing prospective and current grants. The coordinator participates in the strategic planning and overall development of the laboratory.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the day-to-day operation of the study. Implements and manages protocols. Identifies problems or inconsistencies. Addresses complaints and/or needs of participants, staff, or partners. Prepares reports and gives presentations both internally and externally as requested by the PI.
  • Establishes excellent rapport with research participants, staff, and partners. Obtains informed consent for study participation and administers study tests and questionnaires to research participants using standardized protocols. Complete blood draws.
  • Works closely with other coordinators to manage participant scheduling and records. Oversees entry of study data. Interacts with other staff to test participants for DRIVES study and to coordinate among the studies for participants enrolled across different studies/cohorts.
  • Under the direction of the PI, manages laboratory resources, including staff, facilities, equipment, and budgets to meet the laboratory’s goals and objectives. Ensures coordination and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Aids in the development of forms, questionnaires, and the application of research techniques. Assists in writing, maintaining, and updating procedure manuals. Plans for future needs.
  • Performs other duties incidental to the work described herein.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant interest in clinical/translational research and training with an authentic aspiration to support those missions.
  • Enjoys working with older adults (65+ years).
  • Experience with phlebotomy or willing to undergo training to complete blood draws.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks. 
  • Exceptional internal, external, and customer service skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Combination of college education and relevant experience equaling four years may substitute for this requirement.
  • Basic Life Support certification (Online Basic Life Support certifications, those without a skills assessment component are not sufficient to meet the Basic Life Support requirements). Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.

Salary Range
$46,400.00 – $69,700.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one’s qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
