The position aims to provide first line leadership for the multi-disciplinary team working in the Galiwin’ku primary health care clinic in relation to assessment, planning, review, evaluation, and coordination of service delivery.
This position works together with the Senior Aboriginal Health- Practitioner Co-team lead to further develop a collaborative and culturally responsive co leadership model that provides support and two- way mentorship.
The position will also provide high level advice, leadership and coordination and ensure an integrated approach to the delivery of comprehensive Primary Health Care across all service delivery points within the service

Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling YolÅ‹u powered community health and wellbeing.
Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.
Essential Requirements
The Clinical Team Lead will be responsible to lead members of the Clinical team to further develop a collaborative and culturally responsive model that provides support and mentorship for all team members.
This role also responsible to coordinate the multi-disciplinary team, programs, and strategies to deliver an appropriate and safe level of primary health care and emergency services.
Candidates must have registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, minimum of 5 years’ experience as a registered nurse and will also have an understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by YolÅ‹u people living in remote settings.
