(CNA) Per Diem – Sr. Nursing Aide -KOP Peri-Op – 127593

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the CNA supports the continuum of care by providing basic patient care and assistance with activities of daily living. Performs uncomplicated technical procedures. Participates in performance improvement activities, such as chart audits.

Utilizes a variety of technical equipment and supplies. Provides basic patient care support: patient transport, specimen and blood and blood products transport, and inventory management. Cross trains to the role of Hospital Unit Secretary.

This position requires initiative, the ability to prioritize demands and the ability to work in a team environment. Participates in collaborative team environment, including: training and evaluation of peers; scheduling of work; and assisting the administrative functions of the unit.

  • One (1) year of inpatient or outpatient/procedural area experience.
  • California Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certificate.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Demonstrated ability to observe deviations from normal.
  • Two (2) years of CNA experience
  • Two (2) years of inpatient or outpatient/procedural area experience.
  • Previous acute care experience.
  • PCIS, UCSD Paging & Scheduling Systems experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology; Medical Terminology Certificate.
  • Bilingual: Spanish/English.
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $60,468 – $60,468 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $28.96 – $28.96

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
