WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Coastal Restoration Program Assistant will assist the Coastal Restoration Team with scientific field sampling and data processing. Field sampling surveys include electronic and video fish detection, juvenile fish seines, artificial reef monitoring, and cyanobacteria monitoring. Some fieldwork is conducted on our research vessel in nearshore waterways. Data processing will include conducting and interpreting statistical analyses as well as data visualization, report writing, and literature review.  This seasonal position will provide vital assistance to ensure all projects are completed efficiently.

This is a 10-month position beginning on March 11th, 2024, and ending on January 3, 2025.  It is a full-time, temporary position (35 hours per week) with the option to work remotely/hybrid starting mid-November.  The Coastal Restoration Program Assistant is supervised by the Coastal Restoration Science Technician and Coastal Restoration Scientist.  This is an hourly position with a rate between $16 and $20 per hour depending on experience.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • High school diploma or GED and 6 months of related experience             
  • Experience operating various types of equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Must be able to obtain related licenses or certifications as required. (e.g. Driver’s License, First Aid, CPR).

SALARY INFORMATION

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $16 – 20 per hour. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate’s location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
