As a valued new employee to the NMED, you will receive five (5) full days of leave in your leave balances right from your start date.
Why does the job exist?: This position supports the Office of the Secretary (OOTS) and the Executive Team, reports to the Director of the Office of Strategic Initiatives (OSI), and leads the Constituent Services and Legislative Tracking Office areas. This position requires timely and effective responses to constituent inquiries and complaints from the Governor’s Office, agency website, and bureaus across the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED). Developing responses, tracking, reporting and providing support for public inquiries received by the agency. The position also tracks, coordinates and reports on the agency’s performance reporting, and assisting in developing and compiling presentations for internal and external Interim Committee and Legislative meetings. Coordinating the OSI Legislative Tracking Office and staff volunteers during the legislative session.
How does it get done?: Timely and effective responses to constituent inquiries, correspondence from the Governor’s Office, agency website as well as phone calls, emails, documenting interactions and reporting to NMED management and the Governor’s Office
Who are the customers?: New Mexicans to protect and restore the environment
Minimum Qualification: Associate’s Degree and three (3) years of experience in program administration or project management in areas related to the purpose of the position. Any combination of education and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course certificate as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required.Supplemental Information
