As part of our Commercial Contracts Team you will ensure that we conclude robust and sustainable contracts with our customers, which enable the ultimate delivery of our solutions to patients whilst also mitigating company risks.Critical AttributesYou will be a team player who demonstrates high integrity and an unyielding commitment to legal and regulatory compliance whilst also being pragmatic and demonstrating commercial acumen. A self starter who has the ability to work independently or as part of a team in an often intensely deadline-oriented environment. You will be comfortable engaging with internal and external stakeholders of all levels with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will require strong negotiation and contract drafting skills accompanied with a resilient and tenacious approach.ResponsibilitiesInvolved with pre-tender engagement positioning; advising the Business Areas on the existing contract landscape and any foreseen risks with the customer’s proposed tender approach.Working closely with our Bids and Commercial functions on tender submissions you will be reviewing and managing multiple large tender opportunities simultaneously; reviewing the relevant tender documents and providing a comprehensive risk assessment of the opportunity.Coordinating and drafting, for submission to the customer, tender clarifications and summaries of unacceptable risks.Reviewing, drafting, negotiating and executing commercial contracts with our customers highlighting areas of risk, proposing/agreeing risk mitigating strategies and ensuring contracts are commercially and legally robust (in accordance with our tender submissions).Providing ad hoc advice and guidance on public procurement legislation and contractual queries from internal departments.Drafting and/or reviewing dispute communications, novation agreements, confidentiality agreements, software licences.Qualifications and ExperienceIdeally be a qualified commercial contracts lawyer or alternatively hold a CCM or CIPS accreditation with demonstrable experience in contract drafting.You will have an excellent level of contract law experience and a track record of providing contractual expertise relating to the provision of high value complex goods and services (typically in excess of £5m+).Preferably you will have knowledge of public procurement regulations (PCR2015) and have a basic understanding of data protection matters.Who we areAt Roche, more than 100,000 people across 100 countries are pushing back the frontiers of healthcare.
