Job DescriptionCommercial Property Legal AssistantOur client, a well-established law firm in the Top Legal 500 based in Colchester, is recruiting for an organised and detail-focused Commercial Property Legal Assistant .
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-respected and supportive team, where you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional legal support to the Commercial Property Team.The Role
Providing support to the team with a strong emphasis on document production, including formatting, proofreading
Preparing and amending contracts, agreements, leases and correspondence with accuracy and professionalism
Applying for Land Searches
Track changes
Opening new client files, conducting ID and AML checks, preparing initial documents, and closing files in line with the firm’s procedures and compliance standards
Maintaining well-organised case files using client management software and ensuring all documents are handled and stored in accordance with compliance and regulatory standards
Supporting Solicitors with general administrative tasks including filing, scanning, and billing
Managing diaries, arranging meetings, and coordinating travel plans for multiple solicitors
Communicate with clients, colleagues, and external parties, maintaining confidentiality at all times
Regular telephone contact with clients and professional contacts
Assist fee earners in the maintenance of time recording
File and case management, bill preparation
Experience required:
This role would suit an experienced Commercial Property Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant or Paralegal candidates with Residential Property experience will also be considered
Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Word, and quick to learn new systems and legal software
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong document production and formatting Skills, with a high standard of spelling, grammar, and presentation
Excellent organisational and time management skills, exceptional attention to detail
