Founded in 2006 by David Loewi, the mission has always been the same, to provide each and every guest with a luxury experience when stepping foot into our restaurants, bars and hotel. Through the years we have paved the way in the luxury dining scene, acquiring some of the most iconic venues in London and beyond, venues such as Bluebird Chelsea, 100 Wardour St, Quaglino’s, 20 Stories, Orelle and South Place Hotel.

A bit about what you will be doing:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial & Sales Director to lead the sales and business development initiatives for D&D London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing strategic partnerships, and implementing effective sales strategies to enhance the overall commercial success of our restaurants.

Sales Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and maximise profitability.
  • Analyse market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and areas for growth.

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations to expand D&D London’s market presence.
  • Evaluate potential business ventures and negotiate agreements to drive revenue and enhance brand visibility.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction by understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and motivate the sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and training to ensure high performance and achievement of targets.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture within the sales department.

Financial Management:

  • Collaborate with the finance team to establish and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial goals related to sales and business development.
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance metrics to make data-driven decisions.

Marketing Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the marketing team to align sales strategies with promotional activities, advertising, and overall brand messaging.
  • Provide input on marketing campaigns and initiatives to drive customer acquisition and retention.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Utilise data analytics to assess sales performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators, sales metrics, and other relevant data.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with sales and business development activities.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation within the sales function.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred
  • Proven experience in sales leadership, business development, and strategic planning.
  • Strong understanding of the restaurant industry and its dynamics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Results-driven with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

About Company: D&D London is a group of diverse restaurants, bars and hotels based principally in London, but also with venues in Paris, New York and Tokyo. It was founded by Des Gunewardena and David Loewi (the eponymous D and D) in 2006, following a buyout of Conran Restaurants. Since then the company has become a vital player in London’s famous restaurant scene, owning some of the capital’s most celebrated restaurants, including Quaglino’s, Le Pont de la Tour, Bluebird and Coq d’Argent. Outside London the company has made their mark in the North by opening Crafthouse, Angelica, Issho and East 59th in Leeds, and most recently 20 Stories in Manchester.
