An excellent permanent opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Solicitor within a well respected local authority in the North East. This engaging organisation boasts a culture of development and growth as well as being able to offer a diverse range of work as well flexibility with hybrid working.

About the Commercial Solicitor role:

For this opening of a Commercial Solicitor ideally you will have had previous experience with commercial and contracts law. However candidates from other backgrounds are also encouraged to apply, for example; if you have a litigation background with a commercial understanding, or experience working in the public sector in other areas of law.

This commercial role will provide you with the opportunity to; continue with your professional development, deal with major projects, various contracts, procurement matters and contribute to the development of leading practices.

The successful Commercial Solicitor will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Providing legal advice and support in relation to a range of commercial contracts and procurement matters, including; subsidy control, IT contracts, construction contracts and many more!
  • Liaising with internal, external clients and stakeholders
  • Providing support with major projects and schemes, for example; transport schemes
  • Taking lead for the management and preparation of commercial contracts and procurement tenders

Experience required for the Commercial Solicitor role:

Our client is keen to hear from candidates with a minimum of 3 years PQE. The ideal candidate will have an ambition and an interest in going into commercial, procurement and contracts in a local authority.
