Our client is seeking a Commissioning Engineer Lead, to step into a pivotal role that offers not just a job, but a chance to shape the future of renewable energy. As a Commissioning Engineer Lead, you will be at the forefront of commissioning mechanical and electrical systems for onshore and offshore substations, including export cables. – Competitive Remuneration: Be part of projects, managing budgets and executing to tender specifications safely.Key Responsibilities:– Health and Safety: Coordinate and manage commissioning activities within HSE, QA/QC, project, contractors, and O&M guidelines. Prepare and review commissioning procedures and RAMS.
– Commissioning Activities: Plan, organise, monitor, and support site activities to ensure safe and effective use of resources. Ensure project construction is achieved within budget and in accordance with company policies.
– Team Management: Lead and manage teams, allocating tasks to commissioning teams including contractors.
– Budgetary Control: Plan and execute commissioning activities for onshore and offshore sub-station transmission equipment, including pre-commissioning at the construction/assembly yard.
– Customer Service: Represent SSE/Equinor and the JV Project at a local level, ensuring all enquiries and complaints are handled appropriately.
– Make decisions within delegated authority to ensure delivery of the agreed construction plan.
– Recruit direct and agency staff within the scope of the agreed business plan.
– Identify and recommend actions to maintain/improve results.
– Recommend training and development needs for team members.Essential Skills and Experience:– Relevant technical education, such as an HNC/HND in engineering (ideally electrical engineering) or equivalent.
– Proven experience in a management role, coordinating commissioning activities and managing associated tasks.
– 5+ years of experience in offshore wind farm construction, commissioning, and/or operations in the UK.
– Previous experience as an electrical engineer or senior authorised person at least 132KV.
