Communication Advisor Consultancy – Global Programmes – Can’t Wait to Learn & Team up (32 hours)

Background: Can’t Wait to Learn (CWTL) is a global program providing an evidence-based solution to close the education gap, allowing children to continue learning through interactive educational games. These games strengthen foundational numeracy and literacy skills, contribute to improved psychosocial wellbeing, and increase the likelihood of successful completion of formal primary education. Over the past decade, CWTL has aligned with national curricula to build basic Math and Reading skills for 200,000 young learners in countries including Ukraine, Uganda, Chad, Sudan, South Sudan, Lebanon, and Jordan.

TeamUp is a psychosocial support intervention designed by War Child, Save the Children, and UNICEF Netherlands to address the urgent psychosocial needs of children affected by war. It offers structured movement-based group activities grounded in play, movement, and body awareness for children aged 6-18 years, decreasing stress, and increasing overall wellbeing. TeamUp has expanded rapidly and now operates in 25 countries, collaborating with diverse organizations. In alignment with its new scaling strategy, the TeamUp Global Team is focusing on strengthening partnerships with global organizations to reach millions of children.

Objective: The Communications Advisor will support the CWTL and TeamUp programs by developing, publishing, and coordinating communication resources to enhance visibility, support fundraising efforts, and promote the impact of both programs on a global scale.

Scope of Work:

  1. Enhance Visibility:
    • Develop and disseminate high-quality communication materials, including newsletters, blogs, social media content, visuals, videos and reports.
    • Foster relationships with media outlets and coordinate media engagements to amplify program visibility.
    • Support review of branding guidelines
    • Support in the translation and (re-)design of resources
  2. Support Fundraising Efforts:
    • Collaborate with fundraising teams (including partners) to align communication outputs with fundraising goals.
    • Develop donor-centric communication materials and campaigns to attract and retain donors.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Coordinate with program teams, partners, and stakeholders to gather impactful stories and data.
    • Organize and facilitate webinars, and events to engage stakeholders and promote program outcomes.
    • Support resource management and distribution
  4. Monitor and Evaluate Impact:
    • Track and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies and activities.
  5. Utilize feedback and analytics to continuously improve communication efforts.

Deliverables:

  • Write and develop communications materials in partnership with CWTL and TeamUp global and country-based teams and partners.
  • Support communication strategies and plans for CWTL and TeamUp.
  • Develop communication materials, including case studies, success stories, social media content, and reports.
  • Media engagement outcomes, including press coverage and media partnerships.
  • Documentation of stakeholder engagement activities and outcomes.
  • Regular progress reports on communication activities and their impact.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies for global programs.
  • Experience in development cooperation.
  • Excellent English writing, editing, and content creation skills. French, Arabic or Spanish language skills are an asset.
  • Ability to translate academic/ scaling language to external audience.
  • Experience in media relations, stakeholder engagement, and fundraising communications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the education and psychosocial support sectors is an asset.
