Join a great team of 5 dedicated professionals as a Communication and Engagement Coordinator, where you’ll play a vital role in crafting and implementing communications and engagement initiatives for our retirement villages, and new developments.

Reporting to the Communication and Engagement Manager, you’ll contribute to the formulation and execution of top-tier initiatives for Uniting’s redevelopment projects. Utilising your exceptional interpersonal skills, you’ll actively connect with diverse stakeholders

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of communication and engagement plans aligning with IAP2 best practices, spanning project inception, through Development Application (DA) submission, construction, and project completion.
  • Engage with various stakeholders, including current Uniting residents, employees, neighbours, and the wider community, throughout development planning, pre-DA consultation, construction phases, and project culmination.
  • Create a spectrum of high-calibre communications materials that captivate and inform stakeholders, ranging from web content, flyers, newsletters and videos, to social media content and advertising initiatives.
  • Assist to deliver a variety of online and in-person community and stakeholder consultation initiatives.

Qualifications, experience and attributes

  • You’ll hold relevant tertiary qualifications in communications/PR or possess commensurate experience in community engagement and consultation, ideally with membership in the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) and IAP2 certification.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in communications and community engagement, with prior exposure to the construction/property sector/government being advantageous.
  • Exhibit advanced proficiencies in writing, editing, and managing execution.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for explaining complex information and crafting clear, compelling content across diverse communication platforms and to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience working with numerous stakeholders across many disciplines.
  • Adaptable and able to perform effectively under pressure, with a flexible approach to managing deliverables and deadlines.
  • Display a robust understanding of marketing, media, and business realms, with familiarity in the NSW planning and development application process being a plus.
  • Excellent organisational and project management acumen.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and be open to the travel requirements that are integral to the role within NSW/ACT.

Even better:

  • Experience in community and stakeholder engagement in line with Undertaking Engagement Guidelines for State Significant Projects, Department of Planning and Environment (DPE).
  • Experience working in an agency or client-side specialising in communication and community engagement, either private or public sector
  • Experience in retirement living, property, DPE, urban redevelopment, infrastructure projects.
