Tualatin Riverkeepers is searching for a Communication and Events Associate. The position is half-time, with flexible hours, and provides support in the Tualatin Riverkeepers office and at community events.
The Communication and Events Associate works closely with respective program managers to support small and large events, including guided paddles, Tualatin River Discovery Day and our Green Heron fundraiser. The position will also coordinate aspects of TRK’s office, particularly related to communication with members and current and prospective volunteers.
Specific responsibilities include:
- With support from fellow staff members, serve as the lead in coordinating the annual Tualatin River Discovery Day and Green Heron fundraiser events.
- Organize logistics related to public-facing events, including trainings, educational and informational events.
- Respond to phone and email inquiries concerning TRK activities – events, volunteer opportunities, and watershed-related questions.
- Coordinate social media postings and inquiries.
- Assist with office-related tasks such as mailings and ordering supplies.
- Assist colleagues with events and grant proposals.
Required Qualifications:
- Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
- Passion for conservation work.
- Ability to work with community members from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree
- Ability to speak Spanish
- Understanding of Tualatin River watershed
Salary and Benefits:
- $22.50 – $24.00/ hour; 20 hours per week
- 50% paid health insurance
