Communication and Knowledge Sharing Senior Associate
BACKGROUND
The Communication and Knowledge Sharing Senior Associate will be a crucial member of the project team working on the “Youth Economic and Livelihood Empowerment through Green Entrepreneurship and Digital Transformation in Cote d’Ivoire (USD 9.5 million, 2024-2027)” project. This project is primarily funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and implemented by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) to enhance digital skills development and promote green entrepreneurship among youth in Cote d’Ivoire.
In support of GGGI’s Cote d’Ivoire Program, the Communications and Knowledge Sharing Senior Associate will be based in GGGI’s office in Abidjan. Under the responsibility of the Country Representative, he/she will be responsible for handling project and office’s communication and knowledge sharing activities by supporting the development of communication strategies and plans for the program and projects including through content development, media engagement, communication, knowledge sharing, advocacy, and outreach activities in an inclusive and environmentally sustainable manner.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Communications and Knowledge Sharing Senior Associate will be responsible for managing day-to-day communication and knowledge sharing interventions and tasks including media and social media content development, public relations, and project communications activities as well as providing support for meetings preparation, onsite events, and other pertinent tasks. The Communications and Knowledge Sharing Senior Associate also supports GGGI’s global communication and knowledge sharing interventions and is part of the Global Communication and Knowledge Sharing team.
PURPOSE
- Develop, implement, and monitor audience-centric communications strategies and plans, for the KOICA project and GGGI CIV country portfolio as well as specific projects.
- Communicate project results by developing project factsheets, messages, and visualization.
- Following GGGI global guidelines coordinate and manage country program publication including proofreading, designing, and assisting in publishing of GGGI reports and disseminating these.
- Support the alignment with GGGI’s and donors’ communication guidelines, and ensure visual identity aligns with GGGI’s identity and message.
- Organize a green business forum involving Government, Private sector, international & regional firm to share business trends and link greenpreneurs and investors.
- Conduct a policy review of the framework and incentives existing to sustain the Greenpreneur program.
- Coordinate and liaise with related external vendors for producing campaigns and marketing materials, as appropriate; manage and direct photographers and videographers for producing desired content.
- Stay abreast of research and news relevant to GGGI areas of work and synthesize key messages for GGGI colleagues and key audiences.
ENGAGEMENT
- Engage with GGGI global communication and knowledge-sharing team members to share, shape, and deliver effective and impactful communication and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Engage with GGGI country, regional, and global programs to learn about their interventions and support external audience-facing initiatives.
- Engage with media colleagues to promote GGGI’s green growth solutions.
DELIVERY
- Facilitate the external narrative of GGGI’s impacts and outcomes of KOICA project through diverse storytelling approaches, including blogs, vlogs, videos, podcasts, etc.
- Ensure the uniformity of key messages across GGGI platforms, including websites and social media, maintaining a cohesive brand identity
- Develop Project Factsheet and Knowledge Products, Content Development, Production, Collection, and Dissemination
- Events organizing –Support the successful planning and delivery of events hosted by the CIV Team during the GGGI’s Global Green Growth Week.
- Develop a communications plan to maximize the visibility of the Program and its outputs delivered.
- Draft and publish content on GGGI’s social media platforms (i.e., Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook)
- Support external communications around GGGI’s events, conferences, and workshops and engage with local journalists.
- Maintain and manage the program’s creative resources library, which includes a photo library, videos, design templates, and content for the program page on the GGGI website.
- Plan and produce innovative marketing and communication collaterals (e.g., infographics, brochures, social media postcards, promotional videos; materials for GGGI booths in exhibitions, online campaigns); prepare a periodic Program newsletter.
- Support engagement of the partner government and stakeholders on outreach and communication issues related to GGGI CIV Program activities.
- Identify and inform the Program Lead and project managers on engagement opportunities and the effectiveness of outreach and campaigns.
- Acquire and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of GGGI’s program work to respond to information requests from staff.
- Observe ongoing reporting of active projects and mapping of communication activities.
- Supports corporate and international gatherings and events which provide opportunities to share lessons learned from the GGGI country program.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in a field relevant to marketing, communications, design or knowledge management or related fields.
- Preferred minimum of five years of experience within the field of communications, marketing, knowledge management.
- A proven track record of creating engaging, innovative communication and knowledge production and knowledge sharing products and initiatives.
- Experience designing and delivering knowledge production and/or research activities in the field.
- Demonstrated experience on projects funded by international development partners or NGOs will be a plus.
- Advance expertise in use of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, other)
- Proficiency with systems like WordPress, Adobe Suite applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator, InDesign, other communication tools and technologies is a must.
- Experience with knowledge production process and knowledge management principles.
- Excellent writing skills, and excellent design and graphic skills will be an advantage.
- Excellent communications skills in English are a must.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- The Green Entrepreneurship Senior Program Associate is an X7 grade level in GGGI’s National salary scale. For the X7 National salary scale, the annual base salary starts from USD 50,978. Determination of base salary is subject to the candidate’s experience, academic background and internal equity.
- GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.

- The chosen candidate is expected to be based in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire and will report directly to the Project Manager (also based in Abidjan).
