GGGI’s Internship Program is a project-oriented learning opportunity for students and recent graduates (within the last 12 months) to gain experience through specific assignments based on GGGI’s current operational needs. You will be given an opportunity to work directly with outstanding and inspiring Green Growth professionals, participate in workshops and meetings, and contribute to analytical work as well as innovative rethinking on green growth. 

CURRENT OPPORTUNITY

The internship position will be with the GGGI office in Nepal. The intern will work directly with the Senior Project Coordination Officer and Program Management Officer in areas covering agriculture, forestry, agribusiness, disaster risk management and general support for the office. The intern will mainly support the project below.

  • Building Climate Resilience and Reintegrating Economically Displaced Workers through Climate Smart Agriculture in the Terai Flood Plain (KOICA CSA) (2022-2025) – The project supports widespread adoption of climate smart agriculture to reduce vulnerability and improve food and job security, especially for women and returned migrant workers. It does this by a) improving emergency management in the agriculture sector to protect lives and livelihoods; b) strengthening resilient agriculture planning and implementation; and c) building and financing climate smart agriculture businesses for job creation and long-term resilient green growth.
  • We are looking for a talented individual to work with us in the Nepal Office to support the CSA project team in communication and collecting data in the agriculture , liaising with Senior Project Coordination Officer and Output leads to support the successful implementation of the project. More specifically, s/he will (the assignment will include the followings but not limited to):
  • Design and develop brochures, and update where relevant, required for different projects being implemented by GGGI in Nepal.
  • Develop events write up, press notes, case studies, good practices, learnings, newspaper articles and other communication materials for internal (GGGI) and external stakeholders.
  • Develop/review audio visual clips from the fields for wider coverage of CSA project activities and achievements. Support development of an information brief on climate-smart agriculture in Nepal.
  • Support on development of presentations for GGGI events. Draft letters, one pagers, and contribute to content of the reports.
  • Support on logistical arrangements for programs/events organized by GGGI, including through concept note development, drafting invitations, designing banners, coordinating with stakeholders, and coordinating with the event venue.
  • Support in collection and compilation of required project data and information as per the requirements.
  • Accompany output leads  as an when required to meetings and field visits to support and learn under KOICA CSA.
  • Participate and contribute to technical discussions related to agriculture, forestry, agribusiness, disaster risk management and relevant sectors.

ELIGIBILITY       

Applicants to the GGGI internship program must at the time of application meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s (final year), Master’s or PhD program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in agriculture, environmental studies and journalism & mass communication
  • Have good computer literacy in standard Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and graphic design software applications (photo and video editing)
  • Possess an excellent command of English and Nepali languages. Proficiency in other local languages (Maithali, Bhojpuri etc.) will be an added advantage.
