Duties
- Develop communication strategies for specific programmes or events
- Public Relations and Social Media management of activities related to climate change, energy, transport and sustainable development
- Develop communication materials in those sectors or on programme activities (brochures, flyers)
- Organize events or workshops in the region,
- Support the preparation of the reporting to the donor (biannual project updates, annual technical reports)
- Coordinate communication and outreach activities with the partners in the region, project partners, the regional GIZ office as well as the Corporate Communication Unit in Germany.
Profile requirements
Qualifications
- University degree in Communication / PR or a discipline in a subject related to climate change, energy or transport, public management or (climate) economics
- Candidate must be a Citizen of St. Lucia or be allowed legally to work in this country.
- Previous work experience for or with development agencies or government is an asset
Professional Experience and required competences.
- At least 4 years’ professional experience in the field of communication (media and PR work, journalism, internal communication, lobbying or similar)
- Experience in event and project management, stakeholder coordination in a climate or development context; Editorial experience, experience in writing articles and press releases
- Experience in developing communication strategies
- Experience in working on a sector related to climate change, sustainable infrastructure (energy, transport) and development is an asset
Languages, applications and other competences
- Fluent English Level. German and Spanish are an asset
- Excellent organizational, advisory and management skills
- Ability to work in a multicultural team and with individual independence/ initiative
- Valid driver’s license or willingness to acquire one
- Willingness to work to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
