About the Role
As Communications Advisor, you will help build the profile of the important work the Global, Culture and Engagement portfolio delivers through dynamic and strategic communications for internal and external audiences, domestically and internationally, across various channels.

Working closely with the GCE portfolio, and deeply with your colleagues across the wider Strategic Communications team, you will find compelling stories, connect-the-dots collaboratively for the institutional narrative, and boldly create passionate storytelling moments that you proudly, collectively report back on, always looking for creative opportunities to explore.

Central to this role is your ability to collaborate across a large, complex organisation to ensure institutional and functional coordination, prioritisation, and the sequencing of stories towards the strategic narrative.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Produce communications materials for use across the full range of strategic communications disciplines, including media relations, stakeholder engagement, internal communications, issues management and corporate event management, domestically and globally.
  • Producing quality and timely content for a variety of internal and external channels, including news and opinion pieces, staff hub, websites, Pursuit, and social media platforms.
  • Assist in developing and executing integrated communication plans for a range of strategic initiatives.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Who we are looking for
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic communicator who possesses a keen interest in the global landscape, has impeccable copy writing skills, thinks strategically and loves connecting the dots within an organisation.

You are a collaborator by nature, deliver strong stakeholder engagement and influence with ease, and work well independently, but also love being part of a team.

You will also have:

  • A degree with relevant experience, or extensive experience and specialist expertise in communications/corporate affairs, or an equivalent combination of both.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Expertise in producing targeted, engaging communications plans and content for print and digital channels.
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills.
