The ideal candidate should be innovative, and web and multimedia savvy. He/She should have a firm grasp of various digital touchpoints, steer UNHCR’s narrative, and drive highly effective multichannel campaigns. The candidate must be dynamic and energetic with excellent communication and negotiation skills, and will be exposed to frequent liaison with UNHCR donors, supporters, colleagues, and, as appropriate, other colleagues amongst PSP’s global network.
Overall Purpose and Scope of Assignment:
Under supervision of her/ his direct supervisor, the Communications and Donor Relations Assistant’s responsibilities will include:
  • Brand Awareness and Public Engagement
  • Assist PSP Associate in content creation and deployment for brand awareness and public engagement initiatives
  • Assist in answering donor queries forwarded to the donor care inbox from all social media platforms in a timely and responsive manner; field messages and donor concerns for immediate action
  • Assist PSP Associate in public engagement through campaigns, tapping of new engagements and partnerships with traditional and non-traditional media and organisations
Donor Relations and Digital Fundraising Support:
  • Support in the creation and maintenance of campaign pages for existing donors, in accordance to HQ requirements.
  • Support PSP Associate in implementing a robust, responsive, and agile donor development communications plan and fundraising activities, such as newsletter and special appeals, through a variety of media including direct mail, telemarketing, email and mobile.
  • Assist in the optimization of email marketing to donors through timely reporting, analytics, and database clean-ups as necessary.
  • Assist in the production and mailing of printed communications to existing donors in a timely manner, including preparation of mailing list, monitoring KPIs, and coordination with suppliers.
  • Assist in donor care and in-house telemarketing exercises as necessary.
  • Perform other tasks as necessary
Creative Content Development:
  • Support the PSP unit in implementing communications and fundraising strategies for 2023 through creative content development – cognizant of new and upcoming market trends, innovations, platforms, and media to reach existing and potential supporters;
  • Support the PSP Associate in producing innovative content to keep donor journeys relevant and updated, and in ensuring that these journeys implemented across multiple channels in a timely manner
  • Support the PSP Associate in the development, packaging, and sharing of donor stories and testimonials, to build further supporter engagement and long-term value
  • Support the PSP Associate in producing creative content to acquire and retain financial and non-financial supporters of UNHCR Philippines;
  • Support the PSP Associate in producing content for supporter engagement during the course of UNHCR Philippines’ campaigns;
  • Support the PSP Associate in producing creative content for social media and the UNHCR Philippines website;
  • Ensure that all content production and development adheres to UNHCR Brand Guidelines;
Qualification and experience required (degree required, years of work experience, field of expertise, language required):
  • A Bachelor’s degree from in any of these programmes: Marketing Communications, Communication Arts, Advertising or other related fields; with proven academic or extra-curricular background in communications
  • Minimum 1 year of proven professional and/or voluntary work experience with communications for High School Diploma and 0 year for Bachelor’s degree; familiarity and experience with international humanitarian organisations is desired
