Position Summary:
 
The Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute (SSIHI) is a part of UCI Health and the Susan & Henry College of Health Sciences. The Samueli Institute works to transform healthcare through the practice of integrative health by conducting rigorous research, promoting evidence-based treatment modalities, educating the public on well-being practices, providing individualized, patient-centered clinical care, and providing services to the community that focus on obtaining optimal health.
 
Independently oversees comprehensive communication plans for the various research, education, clinical and community programs within the UCI Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute (SSIHI) with moderately complex communications requirements. Communications includes written, visual, digital and electronic. Works with management and leadership to develop and execute organizational communications, such as annual reports, social media, presentations for leadership, event communication campaigns, leadership remarks, clinical services, and program support and more. Works with the team to ensure streamlined and effective communications and marketing efforts across SSIHI’s research, education, clinical and community programs and initiatives.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $73,900.00 – $133,700.00 (Annual Salary). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $73,900.00 – $133,700.00 (Annual Salary).

Required:
 

• 5-7 years of relevant experience 
• Knowledge of integrative health and must be able to demonstrate understanding of whole-person care.
• Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• Knowledge of the organization, its achievements, mission, vision, goals, policies, practices, infrastructure, and a strong knowledge of current affairs, and issues in higher education and / or health sciences. 
• Solid skills to create, develop, and implement comprehensive long and short-term strategic communications plans. 
• Knowledge and skills to advise and consult with management to ensure delivery of the desired message to the target and / or broad general audiences. 
• Solid written, verbal, interpersonal communications, active listening and political acumen skills.
   

Preferred:
 

• Knowledge of all aspects of communications, including strategic planning for various media venues, technical aspects and requirements of various venues, and most appropriate and effective applications. 
• Knowledge and understanding of technical applications to effectively direct technical staff, or personally perform technical work, including design concepts, various media, and applications. 
• Knowledge of location protocols and channels for communication internally and externally.

• Must be willing to occasionally work long and/or after hour for events
