Alaska Sea Grant is a federal/university partnership between UAF and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. We serve Alaska by conducting research, education, and outreach in coastal communities. The Communications and Publications Manager is a member of our management team who oversees the Alaska Sea Grant publications center and leads communications projects working with colleagues across the state.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in graphic design, project management, and science communication. They will also thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to balance multiple projects and priorities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, or a related field or equivalent training and experience.

Minimum 7 years of experience in publications center management.

Minimum 7 years of experience in web design/graphic design.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule , Grade 80, based on education and experience.
