Hiring Unit:
Redpath Museum
Position Summary:
- Conduct workshops animation activities using existing content and materials provided.
- Offer guided tours using already developed scripts.
- Work with student volunteers, indoors and outdoors, for tabling activities using existent content and material.
- Conduct interactive presentations, indoors and outdoors, focusing on an assigned subject.
- Gallery presence and interaction with the public.
- Engage visitors interact with visitors, provide information and answer their questions.
- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure visitor satisfaction.
- Ensure Museum’s open and close procedures are respected on weekends.
- Coordinate with manager on-site.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
- Minimum 1year experience in a museum public program
- Must be fluent in French and English
- Ability to deliver informative and engaging tours that cater to different learning styles
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with visitors and colleagues
- Customer-service oriented attitude and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure visitor satisfaction
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with diverse audiences
- Ability to handle unexpected situations with professionalism and tact
Experience and education:
- Master’s degree in a field of Museology, Anthropology, Biology or Geology an asset
