The Resource Assistants Program seeks to engage ethnically and racially diverse young professionals in natural resource careers. You must be:
- a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
- a college graduate.

Position Description:
The selected Resource Assistant (RA) will support the Communications & Community Engagement Team of the Pacific Northwest Regional Office by assisting with digital content creation to include written and video stories, infographics, social media posts, and audio products to reinforce public safety and responsible use of public lands. In addition to this, the successful candidate will offer program support to the team.
Responsibilities:
- Duties may include, but are not limited to: supporting event planning for new employee orientations, representing the agency at public events, interacting with youth and people of all ages at conservation education activities, facilitating meetings or trainings with other RAs and their mentors, coordinating with partners for RA support, and assisting with the onboarding processes for RAs.
- This is an immersive professional internship that requires a skillful and confident applicant who can manage a portfolio of work with the support of permanent staff.
Qualifications:
Major studies relevant to this position include: Communications, Leadership & Community Engagement, Environmental Education, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Electronic and Digital Medical Communications, Social Science, Environmental Studies
- Experience with demonstrating strong oral and written communication skills.
- Work that demonstrates the ability to independently manage assignments and communicate on progress and barriers.
- Experience working successfully as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience with website functionality and the ability to learn new software tools to edit websites. No coding experience required.
- Some graphic design experience in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or an equivalent software.
- Skilled in social media platforms, particularly Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
