Job Title: Communications Coordinator
Hours: 10-15 hours/week (flexible schedule)
Location: Remote (UK-based)
Compensation: £13ph
About Us:
Vegan and Animal Rights conference is a dedicated group of animal rights advocates working to create a more compassionate world for all living beings. We are excited to be planning our second annual conference set for 2025 and are seeking a passionate and skilled communicator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Website Management: Maintain and update our conference website, ensuring it is informative, engaging, and user-friendly.
- Newsletter Creation: Design and distribute regular newsletters to promote the conference, share updates, and engage our audience.
- Social Media Management: Develop and execute a social media strategy across relevant platforms (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) to raise awareness, drive registrations, and foster community.
- Content Creation: Write compelling copy for website, newsletter, and social media posts.
- Community Engagement: Interact with our audience online, answer inquiries, and facilitate discussions.
- Additional Tasks: Assist with other communication needs as they arise (e.g., press releases, outreach to potential speakers/partners).
Qualifications:
- Passion for Animal Rights: A strong commitment to veganism and animal rights is essential.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Impeccable writing and editing abilities, with a knack for crafting engaging content.
- Experience: Proven experience managing websites, newsletters, and social media accounts. Familiarity with Wix or WordPress and email marketing platforms is a plus but not essential.
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and proactively, with minimal supervision.
- Organised and Detail-Oriented: Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

About Vegan and Animal Rights Conference
The Vegan and Animal Rights Conference, first conference animal rights conference in UK bringing together advocates with varying levels of experience to learn and connect. This is an opportunity to build the capacity of the UK movement, create unity and to platform strategies from a variety of different theories of change. The first conference took place in spring 2024 with 300 people in attendance, with the aim to grow to 400 in 2025.
There is growing interest in veganism and the vegan diet. Currently there is no event spaces that really centre vegan and animal advocacy. The nearest conferences are the CARE conference in Poland and IARC (International Animal Rights Conference) in Luxembourg. We need an event that tackles our unique challenges and context, especially since leaving the EU.
