Job Description

OU Office of Admissions & Recruitment (OAR) works to bring in the next generation of Sooners. Our team operates from Norman as well as across the state, nation and world. We provide support to incoming domestic and international freshman and transfer students as they navigate the college application and decision process. Additionally, we partner with parents, counselors, and communities in providing resources to students interested in higher education. Our goal is to build a vibrant, inclusive community on campus by recruiting students with diverse backgrounds, educational experiences, and involvement.

We’re currently looking for a new team member in our Norman office to serve as an Communications Coordinator for our OU Polytechnic Institute.

This position will assist in communication campaigns across email and websites for the Division of Enrollment Management. This position will be responsible for promoting OU to prospective OU Polytechnic Institute transfer students (U.S. and International students), parents, and counselors; and effectively communicating post-admission action items to admitted students.

  • Build, execute, and manage email communication for prospective students, families, high school counselors, and current students
  • Build and manage recruitment event, visit, and tour communication for prospective OUPI students
  • Assist communications team in developing, implementing, and maintaining communication objectives
  • Use CRM filters to build queries to communicate with specific populations
  • Use design elements in our email builder to create effective communication pieces
  • Work with campus programs and academic colleges to create and send emails
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of email campaigns
  • Update, create, and manage content across the division’s websites within the CMS
  • Performs other duties as assigned

***This position will be located in Norman with a flexible hybrid option possible for experienced candidates after required training period.***



Job Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, graphic design, communications or a related field.

Equivalency/Substitution:  Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Editing, proofreading and composition skills.
  • Organized and ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Standard administrative office environment and exposure, including frequent keyboarding. This position requires mobility, such as being able to move between floors or between buildings on campus.
  • Environmental: Standard office environment. Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods. May be required to travel. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.

Departmental Preferences:

  • Preference given to someone who has strong ability in a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (Slate-training will be provided)
  • Preference given to someone who has CMS experience (Adobe Experience Manager-training will be provided)
  • Digital accessibility knowledge a plus (training will be provided)
  • Preferred 6 to 24 months of email experience
