Mount Grace is an accredited regional land trust serving 23 communities in north central and western Massachusetts. Headquartered in Athol, MA, we have been working to conserve and steward land since 1986. Our work is rooted in our collaborative, innovative approach to conservation.
We are looking to add a dynamic, enthusiastic member to our team to boost our communications, community outreach, and fundraising capacity. Mount Grace is a proud equal opportunity employer and strives to be an inclusive and diverse organization.
Core position responsibilities will include organizing the membership outreach program, fundraising, and driving our media and communications materials and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Communications and Marketing: Implement a communications and marketing plan that tells the Mount Grace story effectively through events, traditional media, newsletters, eNews, graphics, brochures, video, website content management, and social media. Coordinate across the organization to prepare compelling images and media conveying the conservation impacts of new land protection stewardship projects.
Outreach and Donor Cultivation Events: Create and coordinate a calendar of outreach events that deepen connections with our members, supporters, and the public, that grow membership and that appeal to our core audiences. These events may include nature walks, farm to table dinners, pub science, concerts, recreation activities, annual gatherings of our major donor society, and our Annual Meeting. Some events may be scheduled outside of regular business hours.
Fundraising: Work with the Development Team to secure necessary funds for the organization including the curation of thoughtful events and materials that deepen connections to the organization and mission. Develop and serve as the lead fundraising contact for a portfolio of 15-20 current and potential donors as part of the Major Donor Program.
Membership Program: Help to set and implement our membership recruitment and retention goals and strategies in partnership with the Development Team, including hosting large events that introduce prospective donors to the organization as well as writing new member, renewal, and appeal letters.
Outreach to Partner and Stakeholder Organizations: support program staff by coordinating with partner organizations on outreach events and projects that build collaborative relationships and the visibility of Mount Grace in the community.

Compensation
Salary range of $40,000 to $55,000 (Mount Grace has a 36-hour work week for full-time staff) is commensurate with experience. Mount Grace offers a collaborative work environment, with hybrid remote/onsite hours, and a commitment to the whole person. There is a competitive benefits package including health insurance, 401k and five weeks of paid vacation/year.
