JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Works within the central Human Resources division to assist with the development, creation, and implementation of programs, events, and communications designed to inform, educate, and engage Emory University’s employees.
  • Collaborates and partners with internal stakeholders to help plan, develop and execute employee engagement strategies which drive the awareness and understanding of HR programs, policies, and benefits.
  • Is a key member of the team that helps to imagine, plan, and execute several large-scale, campus-wide events annually: Staff Fest, Award of Distinction, and Service Awards Luncheon.
  • Develops, writes, and edits various digital and print communications materials including articles, newsletters, flyers, brochures, and publications.
  • Provides administrative and programmatic support for the university’s awards and recognition programs, employee resource groups, and other initiatives.
  • Works with external vendor partners (printers, photographers, caterers, etc.) to ensure completion of projects and timely delivery.
  • Assists with program evaluation including needs assessments, survey development, and administration.
  • Initiates, processes, and maintains records and invoices.
  • Responds to employee inquiries and requests.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, business administration, public health, or related field, and one year of events, engagement, communications, or related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment preferred.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
