Basis: Permanent, Paid, Full-Time, 37.5 hrs/week

Salary: £25,000 p/a

Job Description:

This is an exciting role for someone with an excellent balance between expressive creativity and practical management. As the Communications & Events Manager you will be tasked with managing a team that communicates our heart for the poor, raises awareness of our work and the testimonies of God’s goodness, and engages people to join the cause in one form or another.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a communications and events team including apprentices at various times
  • Ensuring that our branding remains fit-for-purpose in accordance with our visions and values and how it relates to and engages people
  • Developing social media strategies with the aim of increasing brand awareness and engagement
  • Creating captivating content for our website and social media accounts, which may include writing blogs, articles, posts and multimedia content
  • Monitoring and responding to feedback, comments and social media posts
  • Back-end customer relations management, creating and sending regular updates (newsletters) to recurring donors, managing the database, website updates, etc
  • Planning fundraising events from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives, ensure adherence to budgets
  • Sourcing and negotiating with vendors and suppliers
  • Organising team members and volunteers at events
  • Leading promotional activities for the events
  • Ensuring events are completed smoothly and any problems that might occur are resolved

Essential Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A firm grasp of the principles of marketing and branding
  • Ability to effectively communicate cross-culturally sensitive issues
  • Creativity in both thought and expression through various media
  • Ability to conceptualise, plan, and execute campaigns and events
  • Ability to organise one’s own time and workload
  • Experience managing a team and delegating work
  • Proactive approach and self-motivated
  • Proficiency in various forms of social media (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, etc)
  • Proficiency using suite of Adobe Creative Cloud software (Photoshop, InDesign, etc)
  • Proficiency using suite of Microsoft software (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc)

Desired Skills

  • Experience using Customer Relations Management software (ideally CiviCRM)
  • Experience in the charity sector or international ministry
  • Familiarity with full suite of Google software (Gmail, Chat, Meet, etc)
