Mito Foundation is seeking a driven and collaborative communications professional to join our small, friendly team.
The role is a permanent, full-time position based in Sydney. Flexible working arrangements may be considered (e.g. part-time, flexible hours, hybrid working).
Mito Foundation is an established charity dedicated to improving health outcomes and quality of life for people impacted by mitochondrial disease (mito) and their families. Our programs span community support services, advocacy, education, and research. Our shared values are excellence, commitment, compassion, collaboration, and gratitude.
Mito is a potentially fatal genetic disorder that robs the body’s cells of the energy they need to thrive. 1 in 200 people, or more than 130,000 Australians, have genetic changes that put them at risk of developing mitochondrial disease. At least one Australian child born every 6 days will develop a severe or life-threatening form mito.
Responsibilities of the role (not limited to):
- Creating high-calibre communications across digital, print, and social media (including copywriting and graphic design).
- Email building and sending, database management and segmentation, email journey set-up and optimisation.
- Supporting the management of digital experience, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and content marketing.
- Engaging with the community across social media channels.
- Reporting on campaigns and communications performance, providing insights and recommending improvements.
About you:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in managing communications and marketing functions
- Digital marketing tools proficiency: Meta Business Manager, Google Ads, email, CRM (preferably Salesforce).
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in social media content and campaign development.
- Skill in aligning communication with organisational goals.
- Experience in website management and content development.
- Experience in managing relevant external suppliers e.g. printers, designers, PR agencies, etc.
- Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, or experience in a relevant field.
The following are advantageous:
- Experience in email and lifecycle marketing.
- An understanding of media and journalism.
- Intermediate skill level in graphic design with experience using Adobe Creative Cloud software.
- Peer-2-Peer Fundraising platforms experience.
- Experience in health communications and/or with the medical and research community.
