About the role
Are you passionate about speaking up for nature?
Do you have the skills and creativity to help us build people’s understanding of the
superpowers of wetlands and tell stories about the amazing wildlife they support?
From restoring nature and providing homes for wildlife to protecting communities from the
devastating impact of flooding, wetlands are a powerful weapon in the fight against the climate
crisis. And we’re looking for two experienced Communications Officers to deliver creative
communications that help inspire one million people to take action to protect, restore and
create bigger, better, more connected wetlands.
These roles will work across communications disciplines, flexing to support the team’s
priorities through events management, internal communications, external campaigning and media
relations. This is a really exciting opportunity to make a real difference for nature, to speak
up for wetlands and wildlife and inspire new and existing audiences with our messages.
We’re an organisation of action, running multiple conservation projects and networks in the UK
and around the world, as well as our own 10 wetland visitor sites in the UK. These hands-on
roles demand flexibility, imagination and a willingness to lead on delivering impactful and
dynamic communications. You’ll help us tell the story of wetlands and WWT, deliver engaging
events, inspire our staff and volunteers and build our profile across on and offline channels.
We are seeking two individuals:

About us
We’re WWT, the charity for wetlands and wildlife.
WWT is a wetland conservation charity that works in the UK and around the world. We’re driven
by a love of nature. These amazing habitats are essential to all life, including our own. But
across the world their health is under threat, and that’s damaging for wildlife, the planet,
and for us.
Healthy wetlands are one of the most nature-rich habitats on earth and they help control our
climate. They store carbon, prevent flooding, reduce pollution, and the livelihoods of many
communities entirely depend on them.
That’s why we work directly to protect, restore and create healthy wetlands, and why we inspire
and help others to do the same. We make change happen, through our conservation projects around
the world and our pioneering wetland centres across the UK, where each year a million people
come to engage with nature.
In return for your hard work and dedication you’ll enjoy a wide range of benefits
including:
WWT is an equal opportunities employer and all applications will be considered
solely on merit.
Closing date: 31 January 2024
Interview date: Week commencing 12 February 2024
