| The effective and successful achievement of key results by the Communications Officer directly affects the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the relevant business unit/project, impacting the timely and effective implementation of the respective services and deliverables. This ensures client satisfaction and promotes the image and credibility of UNOPS as an effective service provider in project services and management. This enhances UNOPS’ competitive position as a partner of choice in sustainable development and project services in the country/region served.

A first-level university degree ( Bachelor) preferably in communications, media studies, journalism, international relations, public/media relations, public relations, event management or other relevant discipline is required.
Master’s degree in communications, media studies, journalism, international relations, public/media relations, public relations, event management or related fields would be an advantage.
Experience
A minimum of 2 years of experience in communications/journalism/event management, OR Public/government relations and any other related fields is required.
Experience working in media information management is desirable.
Experience in developing strategies and plans for communications and in the organization of events and associated materials is highly desirable.
Previous working experience in a similar position with the government, media organizations, UN, civil society, or private organizations is desirable.
Previous experience in drafting and translating documents is desirable.
Languages
Full working knowledge of English and Portuguese is required.
Knowledge of another official UNOPS language is an asset.
