Led by our new Executive Director – Marketing and Fundraising, Canteen’s invigorated approach to fundraising opens up a breadth of new opportunities for aspirational and experienced fundraisers alike.

We are now seeking a Community Campaign Manager to lead the team who delivers National Bandanna Day, Dry July and Giving Day campaigns whilst creating the strategy for future growth and optimisation of this important fundraising income stream for Canteen.

This year is the 30th anniversary of National Bandanna Day, and the Marketing and Fundraising team at Canteen have big plans to leverage this important milestone and take this highly successful and renowned community campaign to the next level.

Founded by young cancer patients, our mission is to provide essential programs, services, and resources that positively impact the lives of 12-25 year-olds facing their own diagnosis, dealing with a close family member’s cancer, or grieving the loss of a loved one. We believe in the transformative power of our team, and together, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

About our role

  • Develop strategic and operational plans for campaigns, ensuring sustainable growth year on year, and when necessary, adapt and evolve plans to ensure targets are achieved and opportunities for growth are maximised.
  • Play a key role in driving forward new campaign initiatives, continuous innovation, and campaign improvements, bringing innovative ideas and a fresh outlook to the table.
  • Manage, support, and develop direct reports by ensuring the vision is set, objectives are clear, operational plans are realised, and income and other set targets are achieved.
  • Responsibility for ensuring Canteen has excellent relationships with appropriate external stakeholders to ensure optimal outcomes for Canteen. Stakeholders include service providers, consultants, other NFP’s, corporates, donors, supporters, volunteers etc.
  • Responsible for the overall project management of the Campaign portfolio including setting and forecasting income and expenditure budgets for all portfolio fundraising activities.
  • Responsible for regular campaign/portfolio tracking, analysis, and reporting, to ensure targets are achieved and opportunities for growth and mitigation are maximised.

About You

  • Minimum 5 years campaign experience, preferably in fundraising and/or marketing roles
  • Proven experience in achieving fundraising revenue targets, growing portfolios and managing community fundraising campaigns end-to-end
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and a natural ability to connect
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • A compassionate values-based approach and genuine desire to grow those in your team and around you

Due to the nature of Canteen’s work, you will be required to (very) occasionally work weekends and evenings. Advance notice will be given when this is the case, and Canteen does have a Time off in Lieu policy for taking leave as agreed with the supervising manager.
