A bit about the role
Wyndham’s Community Connections and Care Unit provides quality services, information, advocacy, and support for older people and those with a disability or health conditions. We currently have a rewarding opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Cook within our Group Services programs.
You will be responsible for assisting with planning menu’s, ordering, and preparing nutritionally balanced, home style cooked meals for up to 35 participants attending our group programs.
Working within one of our purpose-built facilities you will work closely with our team and participants to provide a meal daily from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 1.30pm.
This engaging role offers a chance for you to become an integral member of our Unit, whilst also making a difference in the lives of Wyndham residents and their families/carers.
What you will deliver
- Effective, accurate and efficient record monitoring for our Food Safety Plan requirements
- Understanding of nutrition and dietary requirements for older people and people with disabilities
- A sound knowledge of infection control and safe preparation, serving and storing of multiple meals
- Nutritional balanced home style meals for our participants
What you will bring
- A post-secondary qualification or demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Highly developed communication skills and a great team player with a respect and understanding of diversity, cultural needs and preferences.
- A positive, curious, and flexible attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
- A demonstrated knowledge or experience in aged, disability or community services is desirable.
- Employee Working with Children Check
- Level 2 Food Safety and a Food Safety Supervisors Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
