Who are AMCS?
Australian Multicultural Community Services, a not-for-profit multicultural care organisation whose mission is to improve lives through care, support and empowerment.
Celebrating our 40th Anniversary in 2023, we are proud to have achieved all that we have, but this wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing team of professionals, who have relentlessly supported us and one another to drive real change.
Do you love making connections and seeing people thrive? This part-time role (22.8 hours a week) is all about helping people connect with their local community and explore new activities!
As a Community Connector, you’ll be a friendly face, helping people discover the fun things happening right in their own backyard. Working part time (22.8 hours per week, 3 days, fixed term until June 2026), you’ll work across one of two locations: Geelong or Maribyrnong, with travel to the AMCS Office.
Your days will include:
- Find awesome participants: You’ll chat with people to see if this program is a good fit for them.
- Discover their goals: You’ll help people figure out what activities and groups they’d like to join in the community.
- Make it happen: You’ll help people connect with local groups and activities they’ll enjoy.
- Work with partners: You’ll team up with other organisations to find the best resources for everyone.
- Spread the word: You’ll help people learn about this program so more can join the fun!
- Keep track of everything: You’ll help document the program’s success to keep it running strong.
What you’ll need:
- Experience working with people with disabilities and knowledge of NDIS.
- You’re passionate about helping people reach their goals and explore new things.
- You have a knack for connecting with people and understanding their unique needs.
- You’re a great organiser who can manage everything with a smile.
- You’re a team player who loves working with others to make a difference.
- And lastly, you have the required certificates and clearances to get started.
All applicants must consent to complete a national criminal record check and admin skills test. As a government-funded organisation, AMCS has to follow government directives so evidence of the COVID-19 vaccination or exemption will be required.
We care, we support, and we empower.
If this sounds like a place you would like to work then we would love to hear from you.
