Community Conservation Officer tendersglobal.net Full-time 35 hours per week tendersglobal.net £28,492 – £30,561

We’re looking for a Community Conservation Officer to work across our woodlands and
meadows projects helping to deliver engaging activities that connect people with nature in the
Yorkshire Dales and nearby areas.

Based at our offices in Clapham, near Settle, with flexible home working
and delivery across the Yorkshire Dales, Forest of Bowland and surrounding areas.

About Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust

Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) is an independent charity doing big things for people,
landscape and wildlife in the Yorkshire Dales. Over the last 25 years we have delivered diverse
and inspirational projects that help to create habitats for our wildlife, tackle climate change
and empower people to stand up for nature.

Our work has helped to plant 1.5 million trees and secure the future of over 750 hectares of
hay meadows, creating habitats for our wildlife and combatting climate change. Our woodland and
meadow projects have strong community aspects which include a growing citizen science
programme, community tree growing schemes and a range of habitat creation opportunities. We are
keen to build on these successful and impactful areas of work.

About the role

Working across several of our landscape and wildlife based projects, our new Community
Conservation Officer will deliver a range of engagement activities with local communities,
volunteers and landowners. You will work closely with our meadow and woodland teams to deliver
the community engagement aspects of our current work. This is a varied role, covering a range
of targets and projects. We are also exploring how we can do more to support specific species
that are under threat in the Dales and this role will support this development.

As a forward-thinking charity we provide a friendly and supportive culture, with fantastic
development and training opportunities, and the opportunity to contribute your ideas at all
levels.

About you

We are looking for somebody with an interest in connecting people with the natural world
through habitat creation and protection projects. You should enjoy working with a range of
different people on varied projects, have great communication skills and have a broad
understanding of nature, conservation and biodiversity.

Underpinning all of this is your ability to work within our culture – which means sharing
our values of being
creative, caring, honest and enabling.
