In collaboration with other local services and residents, HopeStreet Inner City is working towards Woolloomooloo being a thriving, happy and self-sufficient community, where all people feel safe, included, supported, connected, and involved in community.
Work as part of the Community Development Team to develop and implement community strengthening programs, with a particular focus on young people and families. Grow our newly established Youth Centre as we support young people to develop their creativity, build life skills and obtain education.
The successful candidate will have:
- Degree, certificate, or experience in Community Services, Community Development, Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, or relevant discipline
- Demonstrated experience working with youth and families experiencing marginalisation and vulnerability
- Demonstrated experience in participatory youth program design and delivery within a youth centre
- Demonstrated experience facilitating community engagement and consultation
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of child protection and mandatory reporting
- Demonstrated knowledge, understanding of and commitment to social justice & community development
- Ability to work from trauma-informed, strengths-based and harm minimisation frameworks
- Ability to develop and manage effective programs, including design, delivery and ongoing review
- Ability to come alongside and mentor others, particularly young people, to achieve their goals
- Ability to develop inclusive, safe and engaging spaces and a strong sense of community
- Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders, including other organisations and the community
- High level of initiative
