Job Description:

Faith leader groups mobilized and action plan developed to enable them take part in targeting, preparation of plans

  • Facilitate the formation of faith-based community groups in each target village, which will be the vehicle through which WV will work in its support to the communities.
  • Ensure faith leaders groups have clear terms of role and responsibility for group member and are gender balanced.

Faith leaders, Children, parents/ caregivers are trained on CP related trainings

  • Train faith leaders, caregivers, parents, children and partners to organize the training and awareness session which include Life Skill, CP, CRC, MHPSS, Online Safety, Child Marriage & Reproductive Health, Dare to Discover Celebrating Families, Positive Parenting, Case Management and Referral Pathways, Safeguarding.
  • Attend and disseminate relevant training on Child Protection and Spiritual Nurture related topics.

Children and adolescents experience the love of God and their neighbors

  • Organize dialogue sessions among faith leaders, parents, and childrenon Child Protection and Spiritual Nurture related topics.

Build Capacity of faith leaders with different trainings on Child Protection

  • Support faith leader groups in identifying suitable training that meet the interests and needs of faith communities.
  • Identify suitable resource persons who can be used for conducting training to community members.
  • Develop training plans with resource persons for the implementation of training.
  • Coordinate with CP Specialist for effective referral between case management services.
  • Participate in regular team meeting with faith leaders to monitor the progress of action plan.

Coordination and collaboration with project team, Faith Leaders, and community

  • Coordination with Development Field Officer for awareness raising, training and other implementation to ensure meet the project goal.
  • Attend inter-agency/ cluster meetings of CP working group or Child Protection Area of Responsibilities

Monitoring of activity implementation and quality and timely reporting

  • Document and report project/program activities, results, best practices, and lessons learned.
  • Ensure all the accurate quantity and quality data are collected on time.
  • Host donors and National Office staff field visits.
  • Regular monitoring of the project areas and ensuring all the activities are implemented as planned.

Manage Sector Knowledge

  • Promote action learning across the other team members within the area program through regular Monitoring and Data collection process.

Accurate and timely narrative reports as required

Submit monthly, bi-annual, and annual reports on time.

Self-capacity building

  • 5-10% of its work time should be dedicated to acquiring relevant knowledge and skills related to child protection/ Child Participation and Spiritual nurture.

Adequate knowledge and skills are acquired through appropriate training

  • Good application of the knowledge/skills in their daily work should be observed.
  • Ensure the acquired knowledge/skills are shared amongst other field-based staff.

Perform other tasks duly assigned by supervisor/ manager.

  • Carry out or engage in tasks with good judgment and responsibly.
  • Perform additional duties and assignments proactively.

To assume personal responsibility for career development

  • By actively participating with manager in producing a relevant and jointly agreed development plan
  • The plan will identify key areas which will assist in personal and professional development consistent with World Visions strategic goals

Knowledge and qualifications for the role

Required Professional Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in child protection and community organizing, mobilizing, preferably in conflict/humanitarian setting
  • Required Education, training, license, registration and certification
  • Bachelor degree in any discipline (preferably, social science, child development or human rights related subjects).

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Good knowledge and understanding on international Child Protection and national legal framework on child rights and child protection
  • Good knowledge of Child Protection in Humanitarian Action programming especially in PSS interventions
  • Ability to organize group activities and mobilize the faith-based community
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • People- oriented
  • Result-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to work with a variety of stakeholders including staff, community members, donors and local authorities
  • Proven project facilitation skill (essential)
  • Good time management and organizing skill
  • Demonstrate collaboration skills
  • Able to work with faith leaders
  • Good knowledge in Microsoft Office computer programs including Word, Excel and Power Point (desirable)
