Community Engagement & Communications Program Specialist

We are seeking a Community Engagement & Communications Program Specialist to join our growing team.

This position focus on is delivering a variety of communications, education and outreach programming and services, to foster community connections and organizational recognition focused on OCNRCD’s program areas of soil and water quality in Orleans County’s working landscape.

Primary activities include:

1.    Overseeing internal communications plans, strategic branding initiatives and support OCNRCD’s internal continuous improvement goals. 
2.    Provide high quality program related education and outreach through a variety of mediums.
3.    Manage OCNRCD online presence – website and social media accounts.
4.    Develop and deliver special projects.

This position is grant funded and is under the general supervision of the OCNRCD Manager. 

The ideal candidate is a dynamic and creative professional that can step into a scaling up organization to contribute to the diversity and excellence. Who can bring a local community network, a knack for and organization skills for juggle multiple projects, a passion for stewardship of natural resources, and knowledge and/or practical working landscape experiences.  This 30hr/week position has room to grow and is based out of our office in Newport VT in a hybrid, shared workspace. Bachelor’s degree is desired but not required with a least 2 -3 years of related professional work experience. Orleans County NRCD offers staff a supportive work environment with a goal of meeting our clients’ needs as well as the wellbeing of our staff.
