Community Engagement Coordinator

The Community Engagement Coordinator position is through the TerraCorps Service Program (part of AmeriCorps) and members receive a stipend for their service, education award, and other benefits.  It runs from September 22, 2025 to July 31, 2026.   This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to gain valuable experience in Event planning & community organizing, Volunteer management & coordination, Public speaking & education, Social media marketing, and Program development.

The position will support Opacum Land Trust is interviewing candidates for a Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC). The CEC will engage with the Director of Development and Community Engagement to manage volunteers on community service projects, educate or train individuals in environmental stewardship or environmentally conscious practices, and complete three capacity building projects. Potential projects include:

• Develop, coordinate and lead educational, recreational and volunteer events/programming to engage new people in the communities in which Opacum operates.
• Develop and implement activities to increase community awareness and utilization of Opacum conservation properties including tabling, improving property signs and maps, and increasing online visibility.
• Help to coordinate the MassConn regional conservation partnership by maintaining member list, assisting with meeting preparation and follow up, and promoting community engagement in the partnership.. Potential projects include:
