London Buzzing! Community Engagement Officer (Part time, 4 days per week)

Duration: Until end of March 2025

Salary: £28,337.89 per annum (pro rata)

Are you passionate about the small things that run the world? We have an exciting opportunity
to join our team and deliver our Get London Buzzing project – inspiring and engaging people who
live and work in London, to raise awareness of and improve habitat for pollinating insects.

Get London Buzzing will deliver training, providing people with skills to enable them to help
conserve pollinators, and also inspire the next generation, delivering schools sessions and
producing educational resources for primary schools.

The project will also partner with businesses and landowners to increase the amount of
wildflower-rich habitat through the London B-Line.

This role may include: practical project management and delivery; partnership working;
overseeing some practical habitat management works; developing and delivering innovative ideas
and solutions to engage local communities with invertebrates and their conservation; managing
volunteers; public relations; financial management and teamwork.

Do you have?

  • Experience of engaging with local communities
  • Strong communicator who works well independently and with a team
  • Knowledge of a range of invertebrate groups, including pollinating insects
  • Good level of ecological knowledge and understanding of conservation issues
  • Project management, financial knowledge and experience
  • Experience of raising public awareness of wildlife and environmental issues
  • Experience of organising events and involving the public in projects.

This role is fixed term until 31st March 2025, based on 4 days a week. This role will be home
based, within a commutable distance to London. A flexible approach to the working pattern will
be considered for the successful candidate.
