The Role
As the Community Engagement Officer, you will be in an influential role that works closely and collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve the Nature Parks standing within the local community. By working closely with the leadership team, you will be supported to develop strategic relationships within the Bass Coast community and drive community impact activities. In the role you will advocate and promote the Nature Parks’ activities, vision and purpose through the planning and delivery of communications, events and campaigns.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and deliver strategic communications and community engagement campaigns and programs for Nature Parks’ projects and initiatives.
- Lead the development and execution of Nature Parks community events and assist onsite support for community events that Nature Parks sponsor and/or auspice.
- Prepare responses to stakeholder and community inquiries in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Support the leadership team in the development of meaningful partnerships and relationships to encourage collaborative programs and source joint funding.
- Collate, manage, and deliver information and data relating to strategic community deliverables, projects and planning activities to support internal communications.
- Provide administrative support (including minute taking, meeting preparation and papers distribution) for community engagement forums including those convened by the Nature Parks Board.
Key Selection Criteria
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proven experience in managing high-level stakeholder and community engagement projects
- Strong interpersonal skills including relationship and partnership building
- Excellent communication skills including strong writing/copy skills
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Proven ability to work in a team environment
