Your role:
We are the largest provider of out of home care and family services in the state of Victoria. Your role as a Community Engagement Worker is a position that will see you working with young people in one of our houses in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. The role is designed to enhance outcomes for young people through a strength based, engaging and community-based approach so that young people in residential care can follow their interests and aspirations and transition successfully on leaving care.
The skills you will use day to day:
- Supporting young people to set goals and achieve change
- Engage young people who have experienced trauma, violence and neglect
- An in depth understanding of the Mental Health Act
- Develop links to community resources and enhance opportunities for young people
- Community connection and inclusion
What makes this such a great role for you:
- You get a salary starting at around $94,000 plus super at full-time (soon to increase in line with award)
- Salary packaging is available up to $15,900 plus an entertainment card.
- SCHCADS award level 5
- Work from our Residential House near Preston.
- Part time permanent 19 hours per week, pro rata the above amount.
