South-East London, invites you to become our next Community Growing Project Facilitator. Join
us in empowering individuals by facilitating connection with greenspaces and nature.

Position: Community Growing Project Facilitator
Reports to: Growing Lives Coordinator
Responsible for: Volunteers
Contract Length: March to end of October 2024
Hours: 15 hours a week with some flexibility, including evenings and weekends
Salary: £26,708 pa pro rata (employers pension contribution 6%)
Immediate start desirable

About Us:

Sydenham Garden is a unique wellbeing centre, utilizing nature and creative activities to
support individuals recovering from mental and physical health challenges. Our unique approach
brings together co-workers and volunteers from diverse backgrounds, fostering social inclusion
and reducing stigma.

About the Project:

In collaboration with Hyde Housing Association residents and their neighbours, we aim to
co-design evening and weekend sessions, harnessing nearby green spaces and our De Frene Market
Garden. These sessions aim to enhance social connections, increase access to nature, and
bolster mental wellbeing.

Role Description:

As a Project Facilitator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with residents to co-design sessions using inclusive techniques.
  • Planning, promoting, and delivering engaging sessions across various locations and to
    diverse residents.
  • Incorporating resident feedback to continually enhance and meet their needs.
  • Monitoring the project’s impacts.

Main Duties:

Your core responsibilities will encompass:

  • Co-designing sessions with local residents.
  • Planning, promoting, and delivering sessions.
  • Leading activities with volunteer support to engage participants.
  • Creating an inclusive environment and managing materials.
  • Collaborating with the Growing Lives Coordinator to evaluate workshop impact.
