Banyule Community Health is seeking to employ an experienced, enthusiastic and skilled Community Midwife able to deliver high quality, person-centred care and support to our community. This is a great opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary community health care setting with professionals including community nurses, social workers, counsellors and Aboriginal health workers.
This role works closely with internal and external services, including local Maternal and Child Health services, Mercy Hospital for Women as well as Banyule Community Health Medical Clinic and Allied Health services. The position is part time and can offer flexible arrangements to allow for complementary employment in other nursing roles, ie Maternal and Child Health
Your motivation, interpersonal skills, and expertise as a Community Midwife will see you excel in this role as you:
- Provide clinical services to pregnant women presenting with complex health and social needs, and women from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Facilitate health education sessions to individuals, families or groups
- Ability to work in an independent environment
What you will need:
- Midwifery and nursing qualifications with full AHPRA registration
- Registered Maternal and Child Health Nurse qualifications desirable
- Experience in working with women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Interest in working in midwifery shared care arrangements desirable
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, organisational skills and time management skills
