  • We are on the lookout for someone to join the Sexual, Domestic and Family Violence team in the Health Equity and Harm Reduction Division.
  • This role will support the implementation of ACON’s LGBTQ+ Sexual, Domestic and Family Violence (SDFV) Program for sexuality and gender diverse communities aimed at preventing and reducing the impact of SDFV experienced by LGBTQ+ people in NSW.

Ok, so what’s the role?

The Community Health Promotion Officer – Sexual, Domestic and Family Violence is essentially an all-rounder who supports the multiple differing and exciting programs we offer. You will:

  • Assist in the coordination, implementation, promotion and evaluation processes of ACON’s SDFV campaigns, programs, research, and resources.
  • Contribute to the development of professional documents, briefings, and reports for a range of stakeholders including government bodies and community.
  • Regularly update and maintain ACON’s Say It Out Loud website.
  • Represent ACON at NSW SDFV committees, roundtables, inter-agencies and other stakeholder meetings.
  • Give presentations to a range of agencies on diversity, discrimination, and LGBTQ+ sexual, domestic, and family violence.
  • Maintain appropriate and timely statistics, administrative records, and written reports.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to an ongoing process of supervision, unit meetings, team meetings, general staff meetings, quality improvement and professional development strategies.
  • Perform other duties to assist with the work of the unit as requested by your supervisor (or designate).

We provide a flexible and supportive working environment. You’ll be a part of the Sexual, Domestic and Family Violence team, in the Health Equity, Harm Reduction Division. A highly focused and caring team who are responsible for health promotion and awareness raising about LGBTQ+ people experiencing sexual, domestic and family violence in NSW.

What’s the remuneration and working details?

  • Salary: $80,444.00 – $84,357.00 (Gross per-annum, PLUS Superannuation and Leave Loading) – commensurate with skills, qualifications, and experience.
  • Location: ACON’s Gadigal / Sydney Office.
  • Hours: Full-Time (70 hours per fortnight).

We offer flexible working arrangements and a generous array of entitlements often above the National Employment Standards (NES) including:

  • Salary Packaging up to $35,000 gross up value (i.e., currently up to $15,900 Expenses + $2,650 Meals, tax free).
  • Generous pro-rata leave entitlements – including up to an extra week of paid leave for full time employees to be taken during our Christmas and New Year’s shutdown period.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – access to a comprehensive counselling service free to employees.
