About the organisation:
Our client is a not-for-profit organisation providing subsidised housing to Queenslanders in need. Managing 170 tenancies across Brisbane, Bayside, and the Redlands, with significant growth on the horizon.
Based in the heart of Spring Hill, conveniently next to public transport, you will work within a small yet very supportive team.
About the role
As the Housing Officer, you will manage a portfolio of properties and work closely with residents to ensure that the property is maintained and looked after. You will also be responsible for a range of administrative functions and actions to assist and maintain residents’ tenancies Such as; reporting and managing tenancy and maintenance issues, accurate processing of rent receipts and property inspections.
Additional responsibilities:
- Conduct quarterly routine inspections at the properties to ensure they are being maintained, safe and habitable.
- Undertake entry and vacate inspections.
- Assist potential residents to complete housing applications.
- Maintain and manage tenancy data on the company’s databases.
- Liaise with external stakeholders who provide support services to residents.
About you
To be successful, you will have previous experience in a similar role either in real estate or community housing. You will be excellent at building strong relationships with residents, your colleagues, and our stakeholders while being compassionate and understanding.
To be successful you will have:
- Sound working knowledge of QLD Residential Tenancies legislation and Community Housing policy preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in tenancy and property management.
- Strong administrative skills with great attention to detail.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills including mediation and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, use initiative and model resilience.
- Must have a car and license.
