The job
Our service operates in Hervey Bay/Maryborough/Bundaberg/Kingaroy Bay and has a full time fixed term until 30 June 2025, Community Housing Officer position available. As the Housing Officer you will assist families and individuals to maintain their housing and assist those who are homeless. You will provide support to maintain their independent accommodation or to access more affordable accommodation.
The Housing service is delivered to residents of the Fraser Coast, Bundaberg and Kingaroy Regional Council and local government areas.
In this role you will:
- Support people with complex needs to address their homelessness or maintain their tenancy under a case management framework;
- Complete intake and assessments of new clients;
- Promote independent living skills and choice;
- Collect and report client data as required through the use of an electronic database;
- Liaise with other community and government agencies and Real Estate Agencies as part of your case management; and
- Ensure the service delivery meets all legislative guidelines and internal procedures.
- Travel across the Fraser Coast, South and North Burnett and Wide Bay region
What we need from you
- Qualification in Community Services / Mental Health / Social Housing; and or experience in the community sector.
- Experience in accommodation services or real estate would be well regarded.
- Knowledge and understanding or ability to acquire of the Housing framework;
- Current QLD Drivers licence;
- A National Police Certificate;
- A Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance;
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Excellent time management, prioritisation and problem solving skills; and
- Commitment to a person centred approach of service provision.

You will be paid in accordance with our Collective Agreement with an hourly rate commencing at $63,953 pa ($32.36 /hr) or higher, depending on your qualifications and/or previous experience.
